Yearly Archives: 2012

Well here we are. We’re just hours away from the end of 2012. When we wake up tomorrow, it will be a new year and the start of a new adventure.

Here is the last photo I will have taken in 2012 and I found it extremely appropriate because of the wonderful joy and sense of transition it has.

2012 was the busiest year I’ve ever had. I had the pleasure to photograph families, seniors about to graduate, mommies, daddies, babies, couples getting married in the future, and almost 30 couples on the biggest day of their lives together, their wedding day. It has been a year of  new experiences, blessings, knowledge, growth, happiness, and love. As I look back on this year, I am overwhelmed with the amount of joy and laughs you have all brought me. I honestly have the most amazing job I could dream of and I wouldn’t have it any other way. If we worked together this year of 2012, thank you for allowing me to get to know you and allowing me into your lives. Your kinds words and love kept me going through the stress and craziness. If 2013 is half as good as this year, then I will be extremely lucky and blessed.

From the bottom of my heart,

Thank you.

See you next year.

I was very excited that I got to shoot Nicole and Brett’s fall engagement session before all the leaves were gone and before we got all this rain! We could not have asked for a more beautiful day to do an engagement session and I could have not asked for a more beautiful couple that is so in love with one another. They were very nervous at first, but after some awkward laughing to get all the nerves out, these 2 became naturals. I cannot wait to shoot their wedding in 2013!

I was a little shocked when Cortney 1st contacted me telling me she was looking for a photographer for her wedding that, at the time, was only 3 weeks away. I told her I would love to help her out and told her that we should meet in person to start the process. During our meeting, Cortney explained to me an unfortunate situation in which her photographer left her high and dry with no photography for her big day. I assured her I could help her and in the end, it was a huge blessing for everyone. I got to meet Cortney and Matthew who are such an kind hearted couple and they got a photographer and lots of memories captured for years to come. I have been wanting to shoot a wedding a Pageo Farms since my mom took me a there a couple of years ago. I was so excited when Cortney told me that her wedding would be taking place there and assured her that the photos would come out amazing at such a beautiful venue. Sure enough, I was right! Combine a beautiful bride, groom, family and friends and you are bound to create some magic. Cortney and Matthew’s wedding was absolutely delightful. Enjoy!

So as you know, I LOVE Armour Sans Angish. I was super excited when Tawny called me in September saying that for the 1st time in a year (since she has been insanely busy completing bridal order), she had time to create another ready to wear collection for the holidays. We decided to do 2 separate shoots with 2 separate themes. The 1st was inspired by floral colors, the greek muses, and preparation for the changing of summer to fall. Muted pastels and romantic silhouettes against the stark coldness of stone buildings in the background. All of the designs can be purchased HERE at the Armour Sans Anguish Etsy store. Makeup/Hair by Kristin Noelle Makeup & Hair Artistry

The 2nd shot we did was very different. It was more inspired by the autumnal equinox. The bright colors of summer fading to earth tones, turning to black. The collection was inspired by all things dark, twisty, and witchy (which was very appropriate since we shot 3 days before Halloween). Ok I’ve been excited to blog this wedding for a while now. Chris and Antonia’s wedding has been one of my top memorable weddings not only of 2012, but out of the last couple of years. Not only because I got to dance with them and their guests (which is really rare for me when I’m working at a wedding) but because of their all their unique details. Only Antonia take purple (my least favorite color) and make me swoon with all purple accents she created. You’ll remember their engagement session I did in San Diego. It was then I realized how hip they really were and during that session Antonia discussed some of the details she was planning for the big day and it had me ready to shoot the wedding . Antonia put a LOT of work into the details of this wedding and it really showed throughout the whole day. From her wardrobe, to the customized invitations and programs she created, everything she made just so unique and perfectly fitting for her and Chris. Enough talk, I’ll let you enjoy the images. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do, Enjoy!

Um, how amazing are these Jeffery Campbell shoes she bought just for her wedding day? Are they not the coolest wedding shoes you’ve ever seen?Antonia created all of the designs you see below. She played off the AC/DC logo and added her and Chris’ intials. Awesome, right?

Antonia and Chris decided to do a 1st look before the wedding and it was such a beautifully, intimate moment.Antonia put both her Mother and her Grandmother’s wedding dresses on display at the their guestbook table.Their ring bearer was SO SUAVE! he totally held the pose until I told him he could stop.Antonia and her dad did a choreographed dance to “Sweet Child of Mine” by Guns n’ Roses for their 1st dance. One word: AMAZING.

Yep that’s me tearin’ up the dancefloor with Antonia! So much fun

Antonia has a similar picture of her mom and dad on their wedding day with her grandfather holding a shotgun and she wanted to recreate it. It was so hilarious I couldn’t say no.
