Monthly Archives: April 2012

I’ve known Lynnae for several years now and I was so pleased to hear last fall she and her husband Matt were expecting a new addition to their family. I was even more pleased when she messaged me and asked me to take her maternity photos. They found out they are having a lil girl and her nickname is going to be Lulu. So this last weekend, Me, Lynnae, Matt, and lil Lulu had a nice morning maternity session. Lulu will be here in June and I can’t wait to meet her and take photos of her and her parents. They are super excited to meet her.

For the last couple of months I have been taking things pretty easy and enjoying the proverbial “calm before the storm” (aka: a VERY busy wedding season). But I have been looking forward to traveling a little before my wedding season starts. After 2 months of waiting, the weekend finally came for me to drive on down to good ol San Diego! Here are the things I accomplished during my weekend in San Diego:

1. Got stuck in rush hour traffic in downtown L.A. on the drive down (bad timing on my part)

2. Realized it’s not always sunny in San Diego.

3. Had a BLAST photographing Antonia and Chris in Balboa Park and La Jolla

4. Ate at Lucha Libre Taco Shop (one of the Man VS. Food places) and had an DELICIOUS burrito.

5. Visited Mission Bay and did a 1 year anniversary shoot with Kristen and Dave Prendergast (that will be my part 2 blog of San Diego)

6. Discovered Kristen and Dave’s neighbor is still dating Lady Gaga and she calls Dave, “Big D” when she sees him.

7. Explored Old Town San Diego and bought a Luchador mask and some cool Dios de Los Muertos trinkets

8. Ate hot fresh Chocolate and Strawberry flavored flour tortillas in Old Town San Diego as well as some great mexican food (mmmmm…)

9. Drove over to Coronado and explored the famous Coronado Hotel

10. Realized trying to get into Balboa Park again on Earth Day is literally impossible.

A very successful trip to say the least:)

So now onto Antonia and Chris. I met Antonia last August at the Get Married Modesto Bridal show and we talked briefly, but it wasn’t until after the show that we started talking more about her wedding. Her and Chris booked me a few months later and we began planning their engagement session. Initially, we were going to do their engagement session in Modesto (where they will be having their wedding in September), but after talking some more we decided to shoot in San Diego, where they live. Antonia asked if that was OK and I said sure “even though on the inside I was like “HECK YEAH!”. I was looking forward to a very sunny and warm San Diego and was instead greeted by a overcast and a quite cool San Diego. But we didn’t let that stop us and we moved forward and had fun anyways. Here are the results! Stay tuned for Part 2!

And as a bonus here are some behind the scene shots of me shooting courtesy of my assistant Tanya!

I met Kellie at the Get Married Modesto Bridal Show this last January. She was one of the lucky winners to win one the free engagement sessions I gave away at the show. She was eager to schedule her engagement session, but we decided to wait till the weather was a little more predictable. The last Sunday we did her engagement session with her fiance Tommy and we could not have asked for a better day! The sun was shining, it wasn’t too hot, it wasn’t too cold, everything was green, everyone was out and about enjoying the wonderful weather, everything was just perfect! Here are our results from our session, enjoy!

I was very excited to not only to meet Anthony and Tara in person last weekend, but I was also very excited that we were going to be shooting their engagement session in San Francisco! It’s been a long time since I’ve been to good ol SF and I was excited to explore some new spots I’d never been to. I had only spoken to Anthony over the phone a couple of times and talked to Tara through email, but even still, I could tell them were going to be a great couple to shoot and I was right, they were funny and cute couple. Except for the wind, it was a beautiful sunny day in San Francisco! We could not have asked for a better day:)Looking forward to shooting their wedding in September!

Passed by this apartment building and I couldn’t pass it up 😉

monkey faces!!

Oh and if Anthony and Tara weren’t cool enough, Anthony is a Alameda County Firefighter! So we had to take pics of him in all his gear

I met Maria and Hoang last fall when we met to talk about her wedding. I was so excited when they told me they wanted me to be their photographer for not only their engagement session, but their wedding. We wanted to wait till the weather was a little bit more predictable, so last week we shot their engagement session in Stockton. These two were total naturals in front of the camera and kept laughing and smiling the whole time (I absolutely love it when a couples laugh a lot during a session). I SUPER excited to work with them in a few shorts months for their wedding!
