Hey everyone!

I had the pleasure of photographing the newest member of the Foy Family recently. It’s hard to believe that almost 2 years ago, I photographed maggie’s big brother Henry’s newborn photos . Now here we are, photographing big brother henry with his new baby sister and they’re amazing parents in their gorgeous home. Baby Maggie is the perfect addition this this family. She bright, cool and collected, and looks great in yellow (her mom’s signature color). I absolutely love photographing this growing family and their perfect little addition. Below are the results from our lil session. Enjoy!

With it being Mother’s Day weekend, I figured it was appropriate to blog the latest delivery I got to photograph. Danelle and Daniel are 1st time parents and I got to photograph them just a few weeks ago during Danelle’s maternity session. Before I knew it, 3 weeks had passed and I officially on baby alert. At 2am on April 25th, I got the text from Daniel letting me know that Danelle’s water had broke and they were on their way the hospital. So I headed over at about 8am and started documenting the labor process. Danelle was VERY calm throughout her labor. Danelle’s mom and her mother-in-law were BEYOND encouraging, cheering Danelle along the whole way and giving her words of comfort. It’s always so special to see mom’s supporting their daughter during baby deliveries. There’s an unspoken bond that only moms can understand when they see another woman giving birth. They know every feeling, every emotion, the intensity, and the excitement. It’s a full circle moment when a mom gets to see her own daughter give birth to a child all their own. Being in the room and capturing these moments is probably one of favorite things I get to photograph. Danelle conquered her delivery like a true champion and before we knew it,  Baby Cooper was born! Happy, healthy, and with a head FULL of hair! Everyone was just so excited for the moment that they all had been waiting 9 months for. Every time I do a delivery I end up crying at some point because the pure joy, excitement, and love in room is just so contagious, you can’t help but catch it and get caught up in such a special moment with everyone else. I’m so happy I got to be there and capture for special time in this new family’s life and I can’t wait to photograph Cooper’s newborn portraits. Enjoy!IMG_5168IMG_5138IMG_5145IMG_5163IMG_5172IMG_5132IMG_5274IMG_5291IMG_5351IMG_5293IMG_5399IMG_5411IMG_5430IMG_5386IMG_5444IMG_5491IMG_5505IMG_5512IMG_5534IMG_5536IMG_5554IMG_5570IMG_5588IMG_5592IMG_5600IMG_5631IMG_5609IMG_5660IMG_5740IMG_5668IMG_5701IMG_5704IMG_5717IMG_5714IMG_5721IMG_5781IMG_5795IMG_5800IMG_5831IMG_5865IMG_5869 2IMG_5932IMG_5946 copyIMG_5977IMG_5989IMG_5995IMG_6064IMG_6069IMG_6107IMG_6110IMG_6112IMG_6115IMG_6119IMG_6122

It has been baby central over here at Scot Woodman Photography! I’ve been working with a lot of new mommies to be and I figured I’d blog my latest maternity session. Danelle and Daniel are 1st time parents and will be meeting their son in just a few weeks, so they decided to take some pics together (and with their adorable beagle Roo) before their bundle of joy arrives. It was nice to photograph them in their own home before going out and taking pics outside. It was a very candid and intimate session and I was so happy to be capture such an exciting time in their lives.IMG_0015IMG_0081IMG_0043IMG_0091IMG_0112IMG_0133IMG_0070IMG_0205IMG_0247IMG_0269IMG_0293IMG_0320IMG_0345IMG_0351IMG_0353IMG_0381IMG_0456IMG_0502IMG_0540IMG_0591IMG_0635IMG_0546IMG_0642IMG_0713IMG_0743IMG_0804IMG_0895IMG_0919

It’s 11pm February 19th, 2015, I’m getting ready to go to turn in for the night and I get a text from Geoff letting me know things are speeding up and it’s probably best I head to the hospital. I quickly change out of my pajamas into some sweatpants and a sweatshirt and head over to Memorial Hospital. It’s time for Baby Aria to enter this world!

This was the 1st live birth where I got to be in room and photograph and it was a truly life changing experience. Birth is such a fascinating process and being allowed to be in the room and document such a special moment in new parents Geoff and Hilary was an honor. Hilary was so relaxed the entire time. If she wasn’t laying in a hospital bed, I’d assume she was just sitting on her couch at home. Her and Geoff were smiling and talking about how excited they were to meet their baby girl. But birth is a waiting game, A LONG waiting game. We all did a lot of chatting, pacing, and even a little but of napping during the night. Around 5am the nurse came in, checked Hilary, and told us she was going to call the doctor because it was time! Hilary pushed for about 5o minutes, the doctor came in and Hilary did 4 big pushes and Baby Aria entered the world! It was such an emotional experience. I wasn’t sure if I would cry but when I caught Geoff crying after seeing his baby girl for the 1st time, all bets were off and I shed a few happy tears. I was so honored to be there for this special moment and so glad they’ll have these images to remember that special morning:)Enjoy!

Well it’s officially a New Year! I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off a new year with a newborn blog post! I had the opportunity to photograph Baby Henry, who entered the world this past November. Chelsea (Henry’s mom) has an AMAZING blog that I’ve been following for the past year & she does a TON of awesome DIY projects and has an superb eye for style. So naturally, Chelsea and husband Ryan’s home is an immaculately designed home that was a perfect backdrop for Henry’s 1st portraits. (FYI: Henry’s nursery is adorable). Photographing these 3, but especially Henry was an absolute pleasure and I was so honored to come into their home and photograph this special time for these new parents and their son. Enjoy!
