Hey all!

It’s been a moment since I blogged so I figured I’d blog an engagement session I did a few weeks ago in San Diego. The weather was almost as beautiful and the couple, Stephen and Lexie. They’re wedding is in December and will be in Northern California where they both grew up. But they wanted to do their engagement session where they both live currently, San Diego. So I drove on down there and shot them in one of my favorite San Diego spots, Balboa Park. After an incredible session there, we headed down to the beach for some gold ol golden hour shots. It was a really awesome day and I can’t wait for their wedding in December. But until then, enjoy the results from their e-session. Enjoy!

So it’s finally here. My blog post about Paris. Everyone I’ve bumped into over the last 6 months has asked me about these photos and I’m so happy to finally blog them after so many months.

I have dreamed about going to Paris for as long as I remember. So when my cousins told me they were going in September of 2016 and they wanted to me come along, I honestly had no choice. This was it. My opportunity to finally see the city of lights. At the time,  I honestly didn’t even have the money. But 2 days after the invite, I found myself texting my cousins saying “I’m in.” and  buying a roundtrip ticket.

Fast forward to September 2016. I’m riding in an uber from the airport driving down the busy streets of Paris, trying to fully grasp that I’m finally, actually here but still wrapped up in the craziness of traveling alone in foreign country. My uber driver (who was genuinely the nicest person I might have met the entire trip since he barely knew any English but managed to help out to the poor American stuck at the airport, alone with no cell service, who didn’t even attempt to learn any french besides ‘Merci’ and ‘Bonjour’) dropped me off at my Air BnB, helped me get out my luggage, and then sped off. I was left standing in the middle of a quiet Parisian street, hands full of luggage staring down the street at the Eiffel Tower towering over the Parisian city blocks. It was then, that I just let out a huge sigh and just smiled. I was here. Finally.

I could go on and on about moments so similar to the one I just described. But it wouldn’t make a difference. You can’t describe the charm of Paris. Moment’s that are honestly so perfect and pure that it felt like they had been carefully plotted out by some brilliant Hollywood writer. I’d constantly have to remind myself “This isn’t planned. This is really, truly happening and you need to take this moment in.” The intimate moments you see happening on every street, on ever bench, in every cafe. The smells, the sounds, the general feeling of Paris, is truly indescribable. I found myself stopping so many times to just stop and enjoy the moment I was in. Something I rarely do on a normal, daily basis.

This trip was truly life changing for me. I truly never felt more inspired by a place more than Paris. It’s been 6 months and I’m still trying to truly process all of the memories, the small moments, all of the emotions I felt on this trip.

But enough talk, below is just a glimpse of some of the things I saw and experienced in Paris. I tried to do it in the best way I know how, through my camera lens. I hope you enjoy:)

A couple months ago, I had the pleasure of going to the beautiful island of Oahu. While I did get to relax and soak up the Hawaiian sun (a little too much actually), I traveled there to photograph the wedding of Nikki and Rickie. Nikki found my work when I she saw the photos of Jennifer and Daniel’s Australian wedding and she called me up and told me how she loved the moments I captured and told me she’d be thrilled to have me as her photographer. So in June, a took a flight over to the Hawaii and then drove up to the North Shore of Oahu to capture their special day. As soon as I met her at the venue, I knew she was awesome because one of the first things she did was compliment my pokemon stickers on my laptop and told me how much Rickie loved pokemon too. I knew I had hit the jackpot as far as clients go. I wasn’t wrong, the entire day went so amazing and we got along so well. Nikki and Rickie let me steal them away so many times to get some awesome portraits around the stunning venue and Nikki and Rickie’s ceremony was so genuine and emotion filled. I’ve been waiting to share these images with you for so long and I’m glad that moment is finally here. Enjoy!

As many of you who follow me in Instagram know, I recently went to Oahu to photograph a wedding. I got there a couple days before the wedding to relax and enjoy paradise. I decided to reach out to some models on the island and see if they wanted to shoot. I got in contact with Nieshia and we hit off right away and started coming up with some ideas. We both decided we wanted to do our shoot in the rainforest since I had only been once before 3 years ago and she had never been. So we hiked (and I really do mean HIKED) through the steamy, muddy, mosquito filled rainforest to the stunning Monoa Falls. It was worth every drop of sweat and mosquito bite. We ended up getting some OUTSTANDING images at the falls and we even had a little audience of other hikers as we shot. Afterwards, we hiked back to our car and quickly drove to a beach to get some shots right as the sun was setting. Our timing was perfect and we managed to get the beach we had all ourselves. Here are the results of our shoot. Enjoy!0G8A92770G8A92890G8A93410G8A94280G8A93880G8A95580G8A96050G8A96740G8A97390G8A97880G8A99340G8A99770G8A01540G8A02080G8A04670G8A03170G8A03150G8A03440G8A0526

I met Bianca during a fashion show in Modesto in 2014. She makes beautiful swimwear/dancewear and I collaborated with her during the fashion show by adding my flower crowns with her deisgns. Afterwards, we talked a lot and she became a regular customer of my flower crowns. One day in October 2015, she called me and told me she and Max were going to go down to City Hall in San Diego to elope. They wanted me to come down and photograph the special day for them and I was more than honored to do so! So a couple days later, I hoped on a early flight and met Bianca, Max, and Bianca’s family at City Hall in downtown San Diego and photographed them officially becoming husband and wife! It should be known, Bianca made her dress from scratch the night before the wedding (yes you read that right). It was an quick and intimate ceremony and they were so happy to finally tie the knot. After the ceremony, everyone traveled over to Balboa Park to have a picnic reception. They spread out a blanket on the grass, unpacked a plethora of goodies, and cheered to their new marriage. There was tears of joy, guitar playing, well wishes, and laughter throughout the afternoon. Their joy was contagious and so many people passing by commented on how beauitful Bianca and Max looked and how happy they were for them. I was so honored to be there for Max and Bianca on such a special day and I hope you enjoy these images as much as I has documenting such a special day for a couple that’s beautiful inside and out. Enjoy!IMG_6764IMG_6787IMG_6765IMG_6760IMG_6802IMG_6816IMG_6836IMG_6856IMG_6860IMG_6876IMG_6904IMG_6905IMG_6945IMG_6963IMG_6965IMG_7059IMG_7098IMG_7142IMG_7176IMG_7238IMG_7242IMG_7258IMG_7299IMG_7320IMG_7384IMG_7402IMG_7475IMG_7484IMG_7503IMG_7528IMG_7536IMG_7555IMG_7575IMG_7578IMG_7591IMG_7599IMG_7634IMG_7667IMG_7690IMG_7701IMG_7740IMG_7814IMG_7821IMG_7846IMG_7850IMG_7862IMG_7877IMG_7912IMG_7951IMG_7968IMG_8023IMG_8059IMG_8127IMG_8207IMG_8361IMG_8405IMG_8507IMG_8603IMG_8686 copy 2
